First published 2010: Imagine…boating, skiing, golfing, soccer, hiking, biking, gardening, and wild-flower picking…or just basking in one of the Valley’s 300 days of sunshine!
What would you do with 300 days of sunshine?

Thank you to the Wenatchee Valley Visitors Bureau of the video.

Arnie Clarke Dedication Video

The Wings & Wheels Festival last Saturday included a program dedicating a display remembering decorated Air Force combat veteran and Pangborn Airport Manager Arnie Clarke, who passed away last year.  It was a great program that included a fly-by of 4 F-16 fighter aircraft.  If you missed some or all of the program or want to see it again, below are the links to the two part recording of the ceremony.  The fly-by is about a  minute into Part 1.

Ohme, oh my!

The beautiful Ohme Gardens, as captured by a visitor. This is a magical place to visit, hold an event (wedding are perfect here), or to support. My daughter swears she saw a woodland fairy there last time we were up there. I wasn’t suprised.

“The grounds are quiet, restful, and not dependent on formal floral displays… Breathtaking views of the Columbia River Valley below can be seen through cedar and fir trees, now more than 70 years old… It is a photographer’s paradise.”
- Northwest Travel Magazine

Check out Ohme Garden’s website  for a schedule of events (music, theater, food or wine, anyone?).

2010 Economic Outlook Series: Washington State Economy

Presented by Libke Insurance

In March 2010, the Chamber hosted a presentation by Dr. Arun Raha, Executive Director of the Washington State Economic and Revenue Forecast Council. He spoke on the then current and predicted state of Washington’s economy.

In addition to being well qualified and intelligent, Dr. Raha was an entertaining speaker. The governor and legislature listen to his forecasting. We hope to have him return to open our 2011 Economic Indicators Series.

From Dr. Raha’s office: 2010 will be a year of transition from recession to growth.

Questions addressed in the presentation:
-When will the recovery fully take hold?
-When will employment expand?
-What industries will lead the recovery?

Thanks to NCW Economic Development District, we were able to simtaniouly cast this event as a webinar. You can watch the event as it happened.
