In March 2010, the Chamber hosted a presentation by Dr. Arun Raha, Executive Director of the Washington State Economic and Revenue Forecast Council. He spoke on the then current and predicted state of Washington’s economy.

In addition to being well qualified and intelligent, Dr. Raha was an entertaining speaker. The governor and legislature listen to his forecasting. We hope to have him return to open our 2011 Economic Indicators Series.

From Dr. Raha’s office: 2010 will be a year of transition from recession to growth.

Questions addressed in the presentation:
-When will the recovery fully take hold?
-When will employment expand?
-What industries will lead the recovery?

In May 2010, as a part of our Economic Indicators Series, the Chamber hosted a panel discussion forecasting the agriculture outlook for 2010.  The panel consisted of the following participants:

Bruce Grimm, Washington State Horticulture and Marketing Association.
