Every year, the North Central Washington Association of Realtors® and the North Central Home Builders Association raise money to support deserving agencies and causes. This year, in addition to our yearly fundraising, our members are joining together for one very special event.
Last year, our community was shocked with the news that Wenatchee High School student Mackenzie Cowell, was missing and then found murdered. Mackenzie’s mother, Wendy, is a member of both the NCHBA and the NCWAR. We can only imagine what a terrible year this has been for her. Each day, and with every development, while encouraging for justice for Mackenzie, sweeps Wendy away with re-living this tragedy… that has taken this beloved girl from her mom, her family and her friends. The upcoming trial along with national media interest will continue to prove invasive and very personal, and many of us would be overwhelmed and disheartened by the impersonal approach to get this “story”. We would like to extend Wendy as much support as possible so that she can get through this very difficult time.
Wendy has always been a very giving and compassionate person, and always willing to donate her time and money to others over the years. Now it is our time to give back to her.
Our main event is a Dinner and Auction on February 25th at St Joseph’s Wenatchee; the event is called ” The Wendy Cowell Community Benefit.” We will have a silent auction items and a live auction. Dinner will be pasta, salad, bread and dessert. Entertainment will be provided during dinner. The cost is $20 per person.
The evening events will be as follows:
5:30 to 6:30 p.m. : Live auction preview, silent auction bidding begins & social hour
6:30 to 7:30 PM: Dinner & entertainment, closing of silent auction tables
7:30 to 9:00 PM: Live auction
We have the capacity to seat 500 people at this dinner and are hoping to sell out. We are seeking donations to make the event a huge fundraiser. Your support is important to the success of this event. This will be a fun community event. It would be great if you could attend. Tickets can be purchased individually or by the table (seats 10). We will have many auction items that will be great for groups to bid on, so purchasing an entire table to share with friends is a fantastic idea.
Please contact NCHBA, NCWAR or Dusti Elfving for more information, tickets to the event, and to register and arrange for pick up of your donation.
We need to stand together with Wendy as a Community.
Dusti Elfving, (509)663-6370
