The mission of Community Leadership Wenatchee Valley is to build effective communities by educating and motivating a diverse group of leaders to build and strengthen their service to the community

Community Leadership Wenatchee Valley is a program designed to meet our valley's need for active participation of informed, skilled, and involved community leaders
Community Leadership Wenatchee Valley provides the opportunity for participants to broaden their knowledge of the community and enhance their leadership skills.
Community  Leadership Wenatchee Valley graduates benefit the business community, the non-profit sector, and the community-at-large.

  • To strengthen leadership abilities by identifying leadership styles, skills, and possibilities

Community Leadership Wenatchee Valley is a ten-month community leadership development program...

Beginning in September with an adventure based retreat, this comprehensive program runs one day a month from October through May, with a graduation breakfast in June.

Each month topics are presented through the use of prominent individuals from the public and private sectors, in-depth dialogue of current issues pertinent to the sessions topic, case studies, site visits, interactive and "hands-on" experience.

  • Introduction & Motivation

Kick-off the sessions on a fun and energetic note with team building and interactive activities. Get acquainted with your classmates and gain an understanding of the remaining sessions. Select community action project.

  • Working with Local Government

An in-depth look at local government systems and decision making processes.


  • Educating Our Future

Get a feel for education in the Wenatchee Valley and its effect on the area.

  • A Healthy Community

Livability, social services, health care, and recreational programs and organizations which improve the area are emphasized.


  • Our Agricultural Community

This session will stress the impact of the agriculture industry on our local economy. You will also get a good look at the expanding foreign markets.

  • Business & Industry Development

Gain knowledge of business and industry as they relate to jobs and economic development. Find out what businesses and industries are possible for the Wenatchee Valley.


  • Communications and Public Relations

Build collaboration and learn the importance of networking. Learn strategies for connecting groups, conflict resolution, mediation, consensus building, and call to action.

  • Public Safety

Get a closer look at the local criminal justice system and community safety.


  • Moving Out Into the Community

Set personal goals/vision/mission. Present Community Action Project.

  • Graduation Breakfast

A graduation ceremony will be held in June to honor the leadership program participants.


Tuition covers all program costs, meals, and materials...

Tuition may be paid by the candidate's employer, a sponsor, or the candidate.  Partial scholarships are available and are awarded based on need and class composition

Tuition for Community Leadership Wenatchee Valley 

Tuition is $925 for Chamber Member business employees or $1025 for non-members.

Full tuition is due before September 1st. No tuition refunds will be made after the class member has participated in the opening retreat.

Program applications are available through the Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce. Participants are selected through a selection committee.
