This morning Seaport Airlines announced it will start service on March 1 from Pangborn Airport to Yakima and Portland.  Service will include three round trips each weekday and one weekend round trip.  This is great news for our Valley, central Washington, and Pangborn Memorial buy viagra online Airport.

Before I go any further, time for full disclosure.  In addition to my job as Chamber Director, I am an elected Chelan County Port Commissioner (since December 2006).  The Port of Chelan County jointly owns and operates Pangborn Memorial Airport with the Port of Douglas County.  One of my primary responsibilities as a Commissioner is Pangborn airport.  I am very familiar with Pangborn and the impacts of this news. but shouldn’t be considered totally disinterested.

Horizon Makes $50 Fare Standard

AlaskaAir Group has kicked off it’s “Pass on the Passes” campaign. These “everyday” low fares include a $50 one way fare between Pangborn Memorial Airport and Seattle.  The campaign will run until 2/10/11.  Click on the link for more information or to book a flight.

The response to recent fare sales have been strong and if that trend continues, this fare could become the normal fare to get to Seattle.  The Chamber has heard from several members that they love and have taken advantage of these new lower cost fares.

One example:  “I think it’s great! I’ve already booked three flights at the new rate and I tell people all the time. It’s cheaper for me to fly and rent a car versus drive across and get mileage reimbursement when I travel on business!”

If your destination is Downtown Seattle, the light rail line from SeaTac to Downtown is an easy and inexpensive way to make that connection.

Keeping and expanding air service to our region depends on using the service we have.
