It’s Fair Time!

Don’t miss out on Chelan County Fair: September 8 to 11.

I swung by yesterday to submit some of my knits, and just outside the door of one building, I saw an alligator, two wolf cubs and a mountain lion! Seriously. I didn’t even have to hunt around to see cool stuff. It was JUST THERE!

So today I decided to take a few minutes to see what else will be at the fair. Here’s a list of what I’m looking forward to:

The Raptors: Those are some big, mean birds.

The Predators of the Heart: I saw the wolves, mountain lion and all, but I want to really watch them (and figure out if that big cat is really a cougar).

The One-Armed Bandit: I’ve seen him and his buffalo (with a ring of fire!) at the  Ellensburg Rodeo, but that doesn’t mean that trick riding, a buffalo and fire (all managed with one arm!) isn’t something I’m dying to see again. (7PM Sat)

The Rodeo: I get to every rodeo I can, but nothing is better than your hometown rodeo…with the Tillicum Riders Beer and Pendleton Garden. (7PM Sat)

Mariachi Huenachi: These kids have talent and are some of the best around. (8 PM)

There is a comedian and a magician throughout the fair.

The Racing Pig: I alway bet on the yellow pig. Sometimes I win.

A Wine Garden and Wine Tasting: Yeah! Wine with cotton candy, corn on the cob, curly fries, a corndog and an elephant ear! (tasting Friday and Saturday evenings)

And the livestock. Goats, of course, are my personal first favorite with the hogs a close second.

Oh, there is the carnival, fair food, exhibts, booth and so many of your friends there as well. The fair is a great way to spend a beautiful fall weekend. See ya there!

Here’s the full schedule.
